As an early birthday present for myself, I bought a new Sigma 50mm lens for the camera. I've been thinking of it for a while, but was hesitating if the focal length would be a bit much for my purposes. Yoda posing as my first test image.
I was meant to walk home from the camera shop with the dogs and snap pictures on the way, but it started snowing so we had to postpone our outside shootout. Gizmo waiting for me to put the camera aside and start playing with her, after we got back in.
The old lens seemed wide for me after using only kit lenses for a long time, but this is huge compared to it. So far, I love it, but I'm eager to get to test it outside.
We went walking over the sea since even the snow was so thick your foot didn't sink in it at all. So I guess there wasn't any load on the ice cover. Dogs got to enjoy all that space.

I think given the time and space to do it - they would never stop running!
Except when they will prowl at each other, ready to attack. I think Gizmo here tries to look like a rabbit so Yoda won't guess what her intentions are.

Sun was just settling when we left. Last time it had been dark for a few hours at the time of the departure.

There wasn't almost any snow in Stockholm - anywhere. I wish our spring was as far as theirs.

Itäkeskus dog park was filled with snow. There used to be two benches like this. The other one must have been fully covered since it was no where to be seen.
Fence had also gotten a bit low. Yoda jumped in the park as soon as I took his collar off, but luckily they didn't jump right back out even though there was two dogs passing the park.
We finally got to go walk on the field too. The snow was frozen enough to carry our weight. First time this year, since it hadn't been warm enough to create the ice cover yet.
Yoda comes to check out if he can get treats. Gizmo in behind freaks out since she was left so far from both of us! She usually stays really close to either me or Yoda.
My girl would certainly need one of those warning signs above her head when she's out in the public!

Something's happened to the trees. They had lost their outer layer of bark all the way up to the top.
This will be the vegetable part of the dogs dinner, for the next 5 weeks.

This though is the most disgusting thing I have had to do in a while. Luckily they only eat fish once a week so this mix will last a couple of months.
Looks... Tasty? I hope the smell of this will wear off from me and the kitchen by the next time I have to make new fish meals at summer. And at this point I'm lucky to be a vegeterian.
It's getting slightly warmer, so we've been heading out a bit more than the past few weeks. Gizmo didn't even refuse to follow a stick to the deeper snow.
Mainly they are using pathways though. After all they are city dogs.
Excited about the spring coming, I tried to make some teacakes. The final product wasn't as photographic as the cells.
One of the first true signs of advancing spring.
They have grown very fast in the past couple of days. More they grow the more excited about spring and summer I get! :)
Other plants have started to feel better aswell. I had a few of them die during winter and probably have only myself to blame. When it's cold and dark I forget to water them.
Cactuses haven't really minded the less water. I guess they have been hibernating, since it's also been awfully cold between the bedroom window and the curtains.
Gizmo is showing of her favorite toy, the "lammaslehmä". Yoda is eating my sock in the bacground thinking he won't get caught since I'm playing with Gizmo.
