Chistoso A-Ha "Gizmo" 16.5.2006-8.6.2011

I'm sorry for a long post but I made it as short as I could.

This was the first time I saw my girl. I wasn't sure which one of them she would be and still don't know which is Gizmo, but one of them. :)

Gizmo home for the first day. She was so small, at first I thought she could break any time, but she didn't agree and acted like a little hurricane on four legs.

Sticks were her favorite thing from the very beginning.

She was so smart and easy to teach anything (almost). She loved training.

And what a dazzle she became after her first full trimming. The cutest puppy was transformed to the most beautiful thing on earth.

Swimming wasn't her thing. She hated water. But she did learn to be a great swimmer later even though she never got used to getting wet.

Fetching was by far the most fun she ever knew.

During summers she would stay outside for as long as she could.

And where there was Gizmo, there was also a stick.

She'd keep them with her on walks and ask to play with them any time we stopped walking for any reason.

When she was younger she also loved to play with other dogs (and cats), but later she would prefer to play with people mostly.

And she never got tired to being pat and praised.

Inside she'd play with her favorite toys.

Always keeping watch she wouldn't get lost on a walk.

As a two yers old she had already started to look like a grown up schnauzer.

And she would never get tired to fetching and running tag with a stick.

When she was two years old we got some irritating pest in our family. Gizmo thought she could exterminate him and had to be kept constant watch around him.

But after a week or two she had accepted him as well as she could.

She was great inside a ring, but got so steressed about the other dogs when outside it, her show carreer wasn't very long.

But even without merits, I'd always know who the most beautiful dog in the world would be. :)

She was also the smartest and loved learning new games.

Games or not, you wouldn't be able to be around her for long without her finding some stick to play with.

A blue mouse was her favorite toy for a very long time.

After trimmings she got so pretty I sometimes had hard time not to stare at her. Luckily she liked the attention.

When I took my camera out, they both knew they could get treats for posing so these kind of pictures were easy to get.

As a four year old we took a trip to Norway with her. She loved the free space there was.

And a lot of free space means a good place to play fetching.

She didn't have the best apetite, but she was so greedy she would have to eat a bone if Yoda would want it, just so he couldn't get it.

No amount of snow or cold could make her give up a stick!

The lambcow toy wasn't really the kind of toy she usually liked, but became her all time favorite very fast.

A danger she was. A shy dog, ready to defend herself, but luckily she was very obedient so she stayed out of any troubles.

After all I think she really liked Yoda and enjoyed the company, even though she wouldn't be very kind to him usually.

She was the big dog in a small body. The best dog anyone could ever hope.

And very playfull through her short life.

She loved sun, but couldn't stay out of shadow for too long with her black fur.

She used to bring the sticks right to my feet and bark until I'd threw it.

The bigger the better. :)

This can't even scratch the surface about what she was like. It's hard to imagine life being as fun and eventful without her. I'm the luckiest person in the world to have had that dog, even if for only a short time.

The first sizzle

No way we're going to look in the same direction. :)

Yoda is getting closer, and Gizmo far in the background. Ususally it's the other way around.

Gizmo thinks she saw a squirrel. She's been thinking there's squirrels everywhere since she catched one about a week ago.

Yoda is my smiley man, always ready to hug and kiss.

He's so fast, he can almost fly!

A doggy train.

It was a bit too hot for them, so they didn't take many running steps.

Pretty well turned out picture of the two.

I was sitting in the sun for a moment to enjoy how warm it was, but the two had to try to fit on the small rock in the shadow. They know if they get lucky they get treats for jumping on rocks.

This time I told them to stay on the bench so I can get a good picture of them two, in this perfect looking spot.

A squirrel? Maybe?

New looks

Kids after triming. I forgot Gizmo's ears, fortunately she's always pretty no matter how poorly trimmed.

Hanami and birds

A samurai bearing a katana at Hanami party in Roihuvuori.

Didn't take him long to cut the bamboo.

A fight show.

Students dance show.

Girl watching the kendo equipment during the dance show.

Training the swords way.

A girl practicing hitting the side, a hit called dō.

Men fighting a free match.

Several people had dressed in traditional japanese ways.

Like the girl dressed in yukata.

Birds have populated every air hole in the neighbouring building.

They keep a constant watch for their nest.

This bird missed the zombie walk with about a week.

Walking the other camera a bit too

Every time I take the PowerShot with me, I regret it later. Even if it takes pretty decent pictures, their no match to the SLR and I keep thinking how this image would be so much better had I used the other camera. It's not even that heavy to carry with you.

Made the nice and very bright sunset look dark and gloomy. Ad some red and you've got winter again. :D

World Champions

Gold metals lie below the rainbow.

Finlands flags were in abundance.

People were climbing everything they could reach.

It's a small world. He had forgotten which country won.

A lot of kids had been dressed up in accordance with the celebration.

Some 100 000 people took part in the party.

Most fireworks didn't show up very well in the daylight.

As if there wasn't enough rubbish from the crowd.

Happy Birthday my darlings!

Gizmo 5 years and Yoda turning 3 tomorrow, waiting to taste their birthday cakes. Tomorrow when all the crazyness from hockey has gone we'll go to Stockmann to select whatever toys they want as presents.
